![]() ![]() I think this lack of dexterity is the larger gap in experience quality between console and PC FPS (certainly more so than aim is).ĭoom Eternal is night and day when using backpaddles vs a standard controller. Ive been arguing for a back paddle standard since I got a controller that included them, and noticed the immediate benefit of maintaining control of the thumbstick while jumping (a dexterity that’s easily achievable on PC). ![]() That’s a separate conversation and there have been thousands of them on Era since it’s inception) Most people attribute it to mouse aim vs stick aim and the inherent disadvantages with the lack of deadzone and finesse of the latter (though with Crossplay and console aim assist those arguements seem to be changing. I was very much a subscriber of “FPS games shouldn’t be played on console” when I was younger. ![]() I’m approaching 40 now and with family life it’s harder to lock myself in the office to play on PC when I game, so I’ve been more console oriented this generation. I grew up playing FPS games on the PC, competitively. Or at least as a first party / cost-add option. ![]()
